The Asia Pacific University ADB Scholarship 2027 is a fully funded opportunity for international students from Asian Development Bank member countries to pursue a master’s degree at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) in Japan. Host Institution
Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) was established in 1993 in Japan. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across media, business, engineering, and information technology disciplines. APU maintains a diverse international student body and provides English-medium instruction for most graduate programs.
Scholarship Benefits
The ADB Scholarship at APU is fully funded and covers:

- Complete tuition fees for the duration of the program
- All admission fees
- Monthly living stipend of 144,000 JPY per month (amount subject to adjustment if required)
- Round-trip airfare from home country to Japan at the start of studies, and return airfare upon degree completion
The scholarship duration is 2 years for master’s degree completion.

Applicants must hold nationality from one of the following ADB developing member countries:
Central Asia: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
East Asia: Mongolia
Pacific: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu
South Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Viet Nam
Note for African applicants: This scholarship is restricted to ADB Asia-Pacific member countries. African students should explore other ADB scholarship channels or Japan-funded programs like MEXT scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all requirements:
- Nationality of an ADB developing member country (listed above)
- Currently not living or working outside your home country
- At least two years of full-time work experience after obtaining a bachelor’s degree at time of application
- 35 years old or younger at time of application
- Not currently enrolled in any graduate degree program
- Not an executive director, alternate director, management or staff of ADB, nor a consultant or relative of aforementioned
- Commitment to return to home country after degree completion
- Intention to enroll at APU in September 2027
Required Documents
Prepare the following documents for submission:
- Completed ADB-JSP application form
- Abstract of previous thesis or example of written work, and/or list of research achievements to date (if applicable)
- Certificate(s) of employment showing minimum two years of post-bachelor’s work experience
- Recent income tax return OR proof of guardian’s monthly/yearly salary
- Certification of family income (including applicant’s parents or spouse income)
