Overview

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) in GLOBE is a competitive, fully funded graduate programme for students passionate about biodiversity conservation and environmental management. The 3rd edition (2027–2029) will recruit up to 25 students worldwide for a 24-month mobility programme across multiple European universities.

GLOBE is designed for candidates from diverse academic backgrounds—including biology, agriculture, environmental sciences, forestry, geography, and natural resources—who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to addressing ecological, social, economic, and political dimensions of environmental change.

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in biology, agriculture, environmental sciences, forestry, earth/environmental geography, natural resources, or equivalent
  • English proficiency at B2 CEFR level (minimum IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 72, or Cambridge B2/160)

Application Process

Applications proceed in two stages:

Stage 1: Online Form (September 28, 2026 – January 4, 2027)

Submit the online application form with:

  • Personal data (name, nationality, passport number, email—use a personal email, not university)
  • Academic data (BSc degree details, GPA, grading scale)
  • English proficiency declaration (certificate name and scores, or exemption claim)
  • 1–2 minute motivation video introducing yourself and explaining your fit for GLOBE
  • Contact information for two referees

No supporting documents are required at this stage.

Stage 2: Documentation (January–February 2027)

Shortlisted applicants submit:

  • Valid passport
  • Authenticated/certified degree certificates (with sworn English translation if needed)
  • Complete transcripts of records in English
  • Official English proficiency documentation
  • Europass-format CV
  • Declaration of veracity (template provided)
  • Postgraduate Eligibility Certificate (for degrees outside the European Higher Education Area) or EHEA declaration

Referees are contacted for reference letters during this stage.

Selection Criteria

Applications are scored out of 100 points:

  • Stage 1 (77%): Fit to programme (10%), academic excellence (35%), CV (32%). Minimum 50/77 required to advance.
  • Stage 2 (23%): Motivation video (15%), reference letters (8%)

Inconsistencies between declared and documented data result in automatic rejection. Final rankings determine scholarship offers and reserve list placement.
